Adventure Log 01: Let's Show the King We Can Be Heroes!
Sasuke: Okay! Everyone ready? It’s been a busy week of exploration and bopping monsters. Want to go over everything so far?
Anzu: Yes! I have concerns!
Shibao: One sec. I’m still pouring everyone’s cocoa. I don’t want to spill it...
Sasuke: While Shibao’s getting the cocoa ready, by the way thank you Shibao, how’s everyone liking the class they chose for this game. I like being a fighter. I don’t hit as hard as I would like but I’m glad I can cover you guys in a fight and try to keep you from getting bopped. I just wish there was a way to taunt monsters and make them focus on me. Maybe that’s a skill that gets unlocked later.
Tsuki: You’re doing great! Valkyrie is pretty neat. I mostly chose it because I wanted to be a tough girl with a lance and wear helmets with wings on them. They look so cool. I’m hitting things pretty hard and even get some priest spells so I can help with healing. Not bad! =D
Anzu: Those heals are a big help, Tsuki! Thank you! I like being a priest so far. Its important to keep everyone safe and priests have a ton of spells for that. Even though I’m mostly healing, getting rid of poison, and improving everyone’s armour class right now, I’m just glad I can help everyone. I wish I could hit harder, though. Sorry I’m kinda weak.
Sakura: Nonsense! We’d never have gotten past the first dungeon without you. You’re super important to our adventure.
Anzu: *Blushes and hides under her blankie a bit*
Shibao: Cocoa’s ready. Here you all go. Oh, and I like being a mage. I’m super tiny so I could never imagine myself as a warrior and standing right next to monsters is to scary for me. I like standing in the back and blasting them with magic. It’s great. I can hit things so hard!
Sasuke: Yeah! You really blast stuff! It’s so cool. Boom! How about you, Cosmon? Do you like being a hunter?
Cosmon: *nods while scratching his nose* It’s good. I can hide in the back and shoot things too. Or read manga. Both are fine.
Sasuke: Well, you shooting stuff with your bow has been great. You’ve taken out so many dangerous creatures in the back row. I don’t know what we’d do without you.
Sakura: I just wish I could get as awesome stats as Cosmon does when levels up. He has so many hit points, and his stats keep going up! Mine are going up, but slowly. I don’t know how to feel about that...
Shibao: It’s okay! You disarm all the traps on the treasure chests! We wouldn’t have any cool loot without you! You don’t like being a thief?
Sakura: No, I like it. I just wish I had more stats.
Anzu: Did anyone else think it was weird that the game asked us if we wanted our characters to be evil? Why on Earth would we do that? We’re heroes! We’re here to help people!
Tsuki: Well, were plushies. It’s in our nature to help. Maybe some humans like being mischievous in their games so they choose to be evil.
Sasuke: I guess. I could never do that though. I want to save the world! Anyway, let’s just keep at it. We can all get stronger together! I’m just glad we’re fighting tougher monsters now that we’re done the beginner’s dungeon.
Shibao: Yeah, it was good practice for exploring and fighting. It was confusing trying to figure out how to make that magic map that fills itself out as we wander the dungeon, though. We hired that alchemist to help us but for some reason we had to do the actual alchemy at the inn. That seems dangerous! I don’t want to go to bed next to a lab that might explode at any moment!
Sasuke: Yeah, that was weird.
Anzu: That magic map thingie is super helpful though. We never have to write anything ourselves. The map just makes itself as we go! ^_^
Tsuki: The first dungeon was pretty big, too, I thought. I wasn’t expecting that and thought it would be smaller. Still, it was fun and there were so many things that caused us problems like pits and teleporters. I wasn’t expecting that.
Shibao: I didn’t like the super dark room... *shivers and pulls his teddy bear closer*
Sasuke: It’s okay! If we ever find another scary room like that again, just hold my paw until we’re out of there.
Shibao: *nods seriously at Sasuke*
Anzu: It was a lot of fun, though, figuring it out. It was like the game was trying to teach us how to play! Monsters, traps, treasure...all that kind of stuff!
Sasuke: I just wish it told us what buttons did what. We had to hit all of the buttons on our keyboard just to figure out what did what!
Shibao: There were so many different monsters in that little dungeon. Bats, bugs, harpies, evil adventures, ghosts, skeletons. So much! The first boss was pretty neat, too.
Sasuke: Yeah, I liked fighting him. It felt like a test to prove I can be a hero if I try hard enough. He didn’t hit that hard and it only took a few rounds to beat him. Do you guys think he was going easy on us?
Sakura: No, no. He couldn’t have. Did you see how cool his armor was? It was gold and he had a cape! Only serious adventures dress like that. He definitely gave 100%!
Shibao: *nods emphatically*
Cosmon: And then we got the ring...
Sasuke: Yes! The king of that first town we were in really wanted it. He seemed so happy when we brought it back. Then all that stuff he told us about the world being in danger and that we have to help lots of people so we can be famous heroes and save everyone...I definitely want to save everyone now.
Anzu: I can hardly wait! Did you all see all the new areas we can explore? Some of them look super dangerous with really powerful monsters in them so we should probably skip those for now. Still, there are a bunch of new cities to visit and there are a forest and a marsh we can explore. Those look safer but the marsh might be a tad smelly I wonder...
Shibao: There was also that door in the first dungeon where one of the king’s guards blocked us and said it was too dangerous to go past. I wonder if he’ll think we’re strong enough to keep going now that we’ve passed the first dungeon test.
Anzu: We can try but let’s be careful, okay?
Sasuke: Absolutely! In any case, we have a few options next time we play. I say we travel to all the cities first and see what they’re like and we can talk to everyone we meet along the way. Maybe some of them need help with something. After that we can decide which area to explore next. Sound good?
Everyone: *nods happily*
Shibao: Great! Now that we’ve all decided, I’ll go make some more cocoa. Do any of you want to watch some One Piece with me? =D
