Elminage Original Adventure Log 04: The Game is a Liar!
Sasuke: Wow! Sheba Ruins was fun! A little bit scary, though. Some of the monsters in there are strong!
Sasuke: Only in the really deep parts, though. Exploring the areas closer to the entrance wasn’t too bad.
Shibao: There were so many cockroaches, though! And they kept calling for reinforcements! It took forever to beat them and I had to use so many spells. It was frustrating.
Tsuki: There was math in that dungeon too! Can you believe that?!? Math!!
Anzu: It wasn’t too bad once we figure it out. It was the only way we could get through those doors. We were able to make it to the basement eventually. Or were they sewers? I couldn’t tell.
Sasuke: Me neither. It was tricky moving around down there. All those areas where we were forced to move in one direction. Then there was the rotating floors that spun us around. We got dizzy!
Shibao: I have an idea for when that happens. If we step on one of those in the game we all have to stand up and spin in a circle until we’re dizzy in real life then the least dizzy plushie takes the controls until we all recover. =)
Anzu: I really like that idea! Let’s do that!
Sasuke: *nods* Just be careful not to have too many snacks first. That might not go so well.
Tsuki: The monsters in the basement were crazy strong and I’ve never seen anything like them before!
Anzu: There was a rat with tentacles coming out of its mouth!
Tsuki: And it was walking on the tentacles!
Sakura: And the weird guy in the suit ringing the bell with teeth!
Sasuke: He was creepy. Also, that strange tall creature that kept blasting us with lightning!
Anzu: And the giant slime!
Tsuki: They were all so bad. I had to use extra nightlights after when I went to bed.
Shibao: The unicorn was pretty though! =D
Sakura: It was!
Anzu: But it attacked us a lot and always hung out with those scary goats with pentagrams on them. It might have been a jerk unicorn.
Shibao: I don’t think we should attack the golden robot anymore, though. We beat one once and got a ton of gold but I noticed it never once tried to attack us. It just kept trying to run away again and again.
Anzu: I saw that too. I don’t think it’s actually evil. It might just be accidentally wandering into battles, realizes what it did, and then tries to get out of there as fast as it can. I don’t want to beat it up and take its gold. That’s mean.
Sasuke: I agree. How about this. From now on if we come across any golden robots, we don’t attack those. We can all choose defend when it’s our turn that way no one hits it and we give it as many chances as it needs to get away.
Shibao: I like that a lot! =D
Sasuke: By the way, you’re a summoner now, Shibao!
Shibao: *nods*
Sasuke: Do you like it?
Shibao: *nods*
Sasuke: You can even summon a demon! That’s crazy!
Shibao: *nods*
Sasuke: Can you stop that. You’re becoming silly like Cosmon.
Shibao: *nods*
Cosmon: Hi!
Sasuke: >_< Seriously, please stop.
Shibao: *nods*
Sasuke: Stop it! *Slightly flustered*
Shibao: I’m just answering you!! *suddenly very flustered*
Sasuke: *Takes a deep breath* We’re all a bit tense today. I think we should talk about The Ruby Slippers Incident...
Sakura: T_T
Anzu: *Burrows deeper into her blankie, uneasy*
Shibao: *Tries very hard not to nod*
*...Succeeds! =D...*
*Happily nods in his heart on a job well done*
Tsuki: That was bad. I thought we were finally getting some cute armor for girls!
Sakura: T_T
Anzu: They had pretty good armor class too!
Sakura: T_T I put them on and the game asked if I wanted their blessing. Blessings have always been good up until now...this one wasn’t...
Tsuki: You died and were turned to ash!
Sakura: T_T
Anzu: We had to take you to the temple to be revived and when we checked your blessing you were turned into a priest! =O
Shibao: You were still level 17 but you were returned to base stats! You were worse than a level one priest!
Sakura: T_T
Sasuke: Luckily we hadn’t saved the game so we could reset it and get you back to normal. That was a different timeline and we don’t need to go back to it.
Sakura: But you lost that fancy shield we found because of me...
Sasuke: Doesn’t matter. What happened to you was terrible. I’m just glad we could undo it.
Anzu: But the game has used names like ragged robes and rusty sword for it’s cursed weapons up to now. The Ruby Slippers actually sounded cool! Of course we would want to try them on. The game tricked us! =(
Shibao: The game is a liar... =(
Sasuke: Well, now we know. Anzu, you’re in charge of making a new system for how we deal with identifying and equipping items we find on our adventures. This will never happen again!
Anzu: Yes! *salutes*
Shibao: Oh! We have to decide how we can help that magic doll we found in the ruins, Dekku. We were able to fix her but she needs to join our party so we can take her to see her creator.
Tsuki: So one of us needs to sit out for a bit so there’s room for her in the party. Who stays behind, I wonder?
Cosmon: *Appears directly behind Tsuki* ...Hi!
*Tsuki is startled and jumps ten feet in the air*
Sasuke: Are you volunteering, Cosmon?
Cosmon: *Scratches his nose and wanders off*
Sasuke: Is that a yes? O_o
*The sound of the bath being drawn flows in from down the hall*
Tsuki: I guess Cosmon wants to stay behind.
Anzu: *sniff sniff* It’s a bubble bath! =O
Sasuke: Well, that settles that. Next time we play we’ll take Dekku to see her creator and go from there.
Tsuki: And we’ll also be much more careful of cursed items from now one. The game is trying to trick us now!
Shibao: I don’t want to think about that right now. Can we do some coloring books together, Anzu?
Anzu: Yes! =)
